Prof. dr Gojko Joksimović je rođen u Beranama 09. 11. 1967. godine, gdje završava osnovnu školu i gimnaziju. Nakon odsluženog vojnog roka, počinje sa studijama na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Podgorici na kojem diplomira 1991. godine. Nakon diplomiranja zasniva radni odnos na  istom fakultetu, 1992. godine. Magistrirao je 1995. godine a doktorirao 2000. godine na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu Univerziteta Crne Gore. U zvanje redovnog profesora izabran je 2011. godine.
